TEACHER TRAINING

Learn to Teach

Movement with Intention.

Teaching Pilates is more than knowing the exercises. It's understanding how bodies move, how people learn, and how thoughtful instruction can change the way someone feels in their body.

Education rooted in practice.

We believe the best instructors aren't created through memorization.

They're shaped through observation. Conversation. Repetition. Feedback.

With intentionally small cohorts, you'll receive individualized guidance throughout your training while learning alongside a community equally passionate about movement.

What you'll study

Rather than simply learning exercises, you'll learn how to think like an instructor.

Movement & Anatomy

Develop a deeper understanding of biomechanics, functional movement, and the relationships that exist throughout the body—giving every cue and every programming decision greater purpose.

The Reformer

Explore both classical and contemporary repertoire while building confidence teaching clients across all experience levels.

The Art of Cueing

Learn to communicate movement with precision using verbal, visual, and tactile cueing that helps clients feel—not simply perform—the work.

Programming

Create thoughtful sessions that balance strength, mobility, challenge, and progression for private clients and group classes alike.

Working with Every Body

Develop the skills to confidently modify for injuries, pregnancy, postpartum, aging populations, athletes, and beginners while honoring each client's unique movement experience.

Beyond certification.

Our goal isn't simply to prepare you for an exam.

It's to prepare you for your first class.

Throughout the program you'll practice teaching, receive individualized feedback, observe experienced instructors, and refine your own teaching style inside an active Pilates studio.

Because confidence isn't built from reading a manual.

It's built by teaching.

PRIVATE TEACHER TRAINING

Learn the method. Understand the body. Find your voice as a teacher.

Designed for those who want a more personal approach to their education, this one-on-one training combines in-person instruction, hands-on studio experience, independent practice, and direct mentorship—all with a schedule built around you.

Whether you're balancing a full-time career, looking to begin training outside of our scheduled cohorts, or simply learn best in a one-on-one environment, Private Teacher Training gives you the flexibility to move through your education at a pace that works for you.

LEARN ONE-ON-ONE

Private Teacher Training is taught directly by ATX Pilates founder Erica Hogan, bringing more than 15 years of Pilates experience and an approach grounded in anatomy, movement observation, and individualized instruction.

The goal isn't simply to memorize repertoire.

You'll learn how to observe the body in front of you, understand what you're seeing, make thoughtful programming decisions, modify when something isn't working, and communicate movement clearly and confidently.

Because your training is one-on-one, we can spend more time where you need it most. You'll receive direct feedback throughout the process—from your own movement and understanding of the exercises to your cueing, programming, and practice teaching.

YOUR PATH TO TEACHING

Most private trainees can expect to complete the program in approximately 4 months, depending on availability and the pace at which independent coursework, observation, self-practice, and practice-teaching hours are completed.

At the beginning of your training, we'll map out your education and establish milestones so you know what you're working toward throughout the process.

The goal isn't simply to finish quickly.

It's to leave prepared to teach.

Exceptional instructors aren't defined by where they learn—they're defined by how they learn.

Designed for aspiring and experienced instructors alike, our distance learning program delivers the same thoughtful education that defines ATX Pilates—grounded in anatomy, movement science, and the craft of teaching.

Created with flexibility in mind, the program allows you to learn from anywhere while developing the confidence, knowledge, and practical understanding to step into the studio with purpose.

More than a certification, it's an immersive education designed to help you become a thoughtful movement educator.
