Why I Created ATX Pilates The Village

When I opened ATX Pilates, my goal was simple: create a space where people could build strength in a way that felt supportive, thoughtful, and sustainable. A place where Pilates wasn’t about trends or intensity for intensity’s sake, but about showing up consistently and feeling yourself get stronger over time.

As ATX grew, I started to notice something important.

Our clients were getting stronger. Not just physically, but in their confidence and consistency. Classes were filling up. Schedules were getting tighter. And more and more people were looking for a place where they could train regularly without feeling rushed, crowded, or overwhelmed.

At the same time, the Pilates landscape in Austin was changing. Studios were getting louder. Classes were becoming more about novelty than progression. And while there’s nothing wrong with variety, I felt there was a growing gap for a space that prioritized consistency, strength, and long-term practice.

I created ATX Pilates The Village to fill that gap.

The Village wasn’t about opening “another location.” It was about creating a studio designed specifically for progression. A space where clients could come multiple times a week, find availability that fit their lives, and move through thoughtfully programmed classes that build on each other.

Physically, The Village allowed us to do things we simply couldn’t do before. More reformers. More space. More breathing room. Two reformer rooms that allow for a stronger, more consistent schedule. A gently heated mat room that supports mobility, awareness, and recovery without overpowering the body.

But beyond the layout, The Village represents a deeper intention.

I wanted to create a place where strength could be built calmly. Where challenge feels purposeful, not chaotic. Where instructors have the space to teach with clarity and presence. And where clients feel supported — not watched, judged, or pushed beyond what’s productive.

Pilates, at its core, is about control, precision, and connection. When practiced consistently, it has the power to change how you move through the world. The Village was designed to honor that.

This studio is for the person who wants to feel strong and capable. For the person who values routine over randomness. For the person who understands that real progress doesn’t come from one hard workout, but from showing up again and again.

It’s also for people who might be newer to Pilates and are looking for a place that feels welcoming without being watered down. Where you’re met exactly where you are, but still encouraged to grow.

Community has always been at the heart of ATX Pilates, and The Village is no different. From the instructors who teach there to the clients who train alongside one another, the energy is grounded, focused, and supportive. It’s a place where people come to take care of themselves — not just physically, but mentally as well.

Creating The Village felt like a natural evolution of ATX Pilates. It’s an extension of the values we’ve always held, expressed in a space that allows them to fully come to life.

If you’ve been looking for a Pilates studio where strength is built intentionally, where consistency is encouraged, and where you feel truly supported in your practice, I hope The Village feels like home to you.

We’d love to welcome you.

in good health,

Erica
